BEATRIX
Professional Lounger, Occasional Critic
1 year old, spayed, female

There is something wonderfully unapologetic about Beatrix. While most cats spend their days plotting world domination or launching surprise attacks on invisible enemies, Beatrix has chosen a different path. Her preferred activities include sleeping, lounging, stretching dramatically across the floor and ensuring everyone appreciates the magnificence of her belly.
At around 1.5 years old, Beatrix is a mellow, easy-going girl who enjoys life’s simple pleasures. She spends much of her day relaxing before appearing beside her humans when she’s in the mood for company. Independent by nature, she is not demanding or needy, but she does enjoy being close to her people and will happily settle beside you on the sofa or sleep next to you at night.
A Bit About Beatrix
Beatrix currently lives in a quiet foster home with four other cats and has settled in beautifully. She is tolerant of feline company and has previously formed a particularly close friendship with one of her housemates, although these days she is equally content doing her own thing.
She is generally a very low-maintenance cat who enjoys being involved in household life without necessarily being the centre of attention. Visitors do not faze her, loud noises rarely bother her and she is happy observing the world from a comfortable spot nearby.
At night, however, her affectionate side truly shines. Her foster describes her as a wonderful cuddle companion who loves snuggling up beside her humans when the day is done.
Her Favourite Things
Laser toys.
Nothing interrupts Beatrix’s commitment to lounging quite like a laser toy. One minute she is fast asleep, the next she is fully engaged in a mission of utmost importance.
She also enjoys fuss and affection, particularly when offered on her terms, and has a habit of sprawling across the floor in increasingly entertaining positions that never fail to make people smile.
Things to Know
Like many cats, Beatrix has clear boundaries and is not shy about communicating them.
If she becomes overstimulated or has had enough attention, she will usually let you know with an annoyed meow or a gentle nibble. Her foster describes these as soft warning nips that do not break the skin, rather than aggressive behaviour. She is simply a cat who appreciates having her feelings respected.
For this reason, she would not be suited to a home with young children who may struggle to recognise when she wants some space.
Medical Information
Beatrix underwent reconstructive surgery after suffering severe injuries to her cheek and mouth as a young kitten. As a result, she requires some minor ongoing maintenance around the surgical site. Food can occasionally become trapped in her mouth, so it needs to be gently wiped clean every few days.
Aside from this routine care, she is not currently on any medication or special diet.
The Ideal Home
Beatrix would thrive in a calm, quieter household where she can enjoy companionship without too much hustle and bustle. She would suit a single person or a couple looking for an affectionate companion who enjoys sharing space without demanding constant attention.
Children: Best suited to homes with older teenagers (14+) or adults only.
Indoor/Outdoor: Indoor only.
Other Cats: Lives happily with four other cats and appears tolerant of feline company.
Dogs: Unknown.
Food: Royal Canin wet and dry food. Particular care should be taken not to free-feed as she has a tendency to overeat.
Rescue Story
When Beatrix was just a tiny kitten, she suffered severe injuries to her cheek and mouth. Thanks to the dedication of the veterinary team who treated her, she underwent reconstructive surgery and was given the opportunity to recover and live a normal, happy life.
Today, she is a relaxed, affectionate and thoroughly entertaining young cat who seems far more interested in perfecting her lounging technique than dwelling on the challenges she faced at the beginning of her journey.
If you’re looking for a gentle companion with a wonderful sense of humour, excellent cuddle credentials and a healthy respect for personal boundaries, Beatrix may be exactly the cat you’ve been waiting for.
