Big H is almost certainly a dumped cat — far too gentle, trusting and well-mannered to have been born to street life. With his round face, folded ears, plush coat and solid build, he looks very much like a Scottish Fold cross and he carries himself with the quiet dignity of a cat who once knew home comforts and hasn’t quite forgotten them.
He was noticed in the colony not because he caused a fuss, but because he was struggling. Big H had lost weight and wasn’t coping well outside, which led to his rescue and a long medical journey, including treatment for FIP. Today, he is stable, gaining weight steadily, and doing well. As a sensible precaution, he remains on renal food, which he eats happily.
What’s most remarkable is that his character has stayed beautifully intact. Big H is calm, affectionate and deeply people-oriented. He enjoys human company and prefers to be near you, quietly sharing the same space rather than demanding attention. There’s something very grounding about him — like a warm presence in the room that makes everything feel a little calmer.
He does enjoy play, just in his own gentle way. He likes simple toys, soft ones he can bat around or carry, and he’ll happily engage when the mood strikes. He’s not frantic or over-the-top, but there’s a lovely, playful spark there — especially as he continues to regain strength and confidence. It’s clear that, once settled in a forever home, more of this side will continue to come out.
Big H is also wonderfully easy to live with. He has excellent manners, a relaxed routine, and adapts well to indoor life. He enjoys comfort, routine and quiet companionship, and seems happiest when life feels predictable and kind.
Because his recovery has been the priority, we don’t yet have endless content capturing every side of him — and that’s part of his charm. He feels like a story still unfolding. You can sense there’s more of him waiting to emerge once he’s in a permanent home, with space to relax, play and fully be himself.
Big H would suit a calm, loving household that values gentle companionship over chaos. Someone who understands that resilience doesn’t need to be loud, and that the best cats are often the ones who simply stay by your side. After everything he’s been through, he isn’t asking for much — just safety, kindness and a soft place to land.
We can’t wait to see him truly thrive. And we have a feeling that, in the right home, Big H will quietly become someone’s very favourite part of the day.
