BROCK
All Heart, All Cuddles, All Boxes
1 year, Neutered, Male
Available
For adoption anywhere in the UK
Meet Brock. Once a friendly colony cat, he walked into a storage room one day, refused to leave and decided, entirely on his own, that he was a house cat from now on. Six months in foster care later, he has not changed his mind, and nobody who has met him would want him to.
Brock is a soft, affectionate Arabian Mau of around a year old, and he loves people with his whole heart. He wants to be near you, on you and involved in absolutely everything you do. He is not so much a cat as a small, furry person who has decided you are his.
Add to that a passion for collecting, a love of boxes and a talent for comedy, and you have a boy who behaves, quite honestly, like a human baby. His foster dad fell for him almost immediately, and it is very easy to see why.
A Bit About Brock
Brock is a cuddler of the most dedicated kind. He can stay curled up for hours, and once he has settled on his foster mum, she is not going anywhere. Moving is not an option. Getting up for a cup of tea is not an option. Brock has claimed his spot, and he intends to keep it.
He is not the distant, independent type in any sense. He is a companion cat through and through, deeply attached to his people and happiest when he is close enough to touch them. Where you go, Brock would like to go too, and whatever you are doing, he would very much like to help.
When he is not cuddling, Brock is busy. He is a collector, and he takes the job seriously. He picks up his toys and carries them around the house, gathering his treasures and moving them from room to room with great purpose. Then come the boxes. Brock does not simply sit in a box; he fills it, carefully placing his things inside as if tidying up his own little toy chest.
He is, quite simply, hilarious. You can watch him for hours as he potters about with his collection, works out a puzzle toy or reorganises a box to his exact satisfaction. Like a toddler with a very important project, he is completely absorbed, endlessly entertaining and utterly charming.
His Favourite Things
People come first, always. Cuddles, company, attention and a warm lap to sink into for hours on end are the very best parts of Brock’s day.
Boxes come a very close second, especially ones he can fill. Add a puzzle toy, a few treasures to carry about and somebody to watch him show off, and Brock has everything he could possibly want.
Mealtimes are easy too. He is not fussy and happily eats Royal Canin and Applaws.
Things to Consider
Brock is a genuinely attached cat who adores company. He suits a home where someone is around to give him the attention, cuddles and games he thrives on, rather than one where he is left alone for long stretches.
He may need a couple of days to find his feet in a new home. A calm welcome and a little patience are all it takes before he is back to his cuddly, collecting self.
He has no particular fears, although he is not a fan of travelling in his carrier. Trips are best kept short and calm, with plenty of reassurance at the other end.
Medical Information
Brock is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated and FIV and FeLV negative.
He is not taking any medication and needs no special diet. He uses his litter tray reliably.
The Ideal Home
Brock needs a home that wants a true companion and has plenty of love, cuddles and games to share. In return, he offers hours of lap time, a steady supply of entertainment and a heart that is utterly devoted to his people. Keep a few spare boxes handy. He will put them to good use.
Children: Brock is good with children who respect his boundaries.
Indoor/Outdoor: Indoor only, or indoors with access to a fully secure catio.
Other Cats: Unknown, as he has not been tested with other cats in foster. Any introduction should be slow and carefully managed.
Dogs: Unknown, as he has not been tested with dogs. Any introduction should be slow and carefully managed.
People: Brock absolutely adores people and is friendly with new faces straight away. He wants to be close to his humans all the time and suits anyone who loves an affectionate cat by their side.
Food: Not fussy. He eats Royal Canin and Applaws.
Rescue Story
Brock was a very friendly colony cat who always wanted to be next to people. He was never one to keep his distance, and it seems he was simply waiting for the right moment.
One day he ran into a storage room and refused to leave. No amount of persuasion would shift him. Brock had moved in, and as far as he was concerned, he was a house cat from that day on.
Six months in foster care have only proved him right. Brock chose people long before people chose him, and he is looking for a family who will let him curl up beside them, fill their boxes with his treasures and be part of everything. Given that, he has more love to give than you might imagine possible.
