CONSUELLA

Consuela is a four-year-old beauty with the cutest little face and a stunning smoky tricolour calico coat. She’s kind, confident, affectionate, and full of life – a true little lady who hasn’t let anything dim her spirit, not even her FeLV-positive status.

Consuela was once a cherished neighbourhood stray, known and loved by the locals for her cuddly nature and friendly personality. Even as an outdoor cat, she was always affectionate and seeking out human company. One day, a kind-hearted resident took her in for a check-up – and that’s when we discovered she had feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). Because of this, releasing her back onto the street was no longer an option.

FeLV isn’t contagious to humans or other species – it only affects cats. It means her immune system is weakened, so she might be more susceptible to illness and may have a shorter life expectancy. But FeLV-positive cats can and do live happy, healthy lives with proper care, regular vet check-ups, and a stress-free, loving indoor environment. They deserve the same chance at happiness and love as any other cat – and Consuela is ready to give that love in spades.

Now safe in a foster home, Consuela has embraced indoor life with joy. She’s cuddly, loves to sleep with her people, and can be a little chatty at times – always happy to let you know when she wants your attention or a snuggle. She has a moderate energy level – up for gentle play or affection, but equally content to relax and enjoy the calm.

Consuela is a true companion cat. She craves attention and company, and her foster mama adores her for the loving, easygoing girl she is. She would do beautifully as a solo cat in a home where someone is around often – or she could potentially live with another FeLV-positive cat. In a special cattery where she once stayed, she showed no signs of aggression toward the other FeLV cats.

What Consuela needs now is a forever family who will see her for who she truly is – not just her diagnosis. She needs someone who will love her completely and give her the care, security, and affection she’s always longed for, no matter how many years she has ahead of her.
