FREYA & JULIUS

Every rescue story has its heroes, and for this one, it’s a mother’s love that shines brightest. Meet Freya and her son Julius—a pair who have been through so much together.

Freya is a stunning calico with a gentle soul. She’s kind, sweet, and caring, though life on the streets has left her a little cautious. Found in a construction site, she was desperately trying to protect her kittens. For months she evaded rescue, bravely crossing busy roads with an injured eye, always making sure to return and feed her baby, Julius. Her devotion to him was extraordinary.

When Freya was finally rescued, her damaged eye sadly couldn’t be saved. Today, she has one bright eye, which doesn’t slow her down at all—she jumps, plays, and gets around perfectly well. Sometimes she can be startled if approached from her blind side, but with love and patience, she will learn to trust fully. She has the sweetest meow, enjoys her treats, and has shown she can live peacefully alongside other cats. She would be happiest in a quiet household, ideally without young children, where she can feel safe and loved.

Julius, her ginger-and-white son, is the perfect contrast to his mother’s calm reserve. He is curious, playful, and full of energy—always exploring, always ready for mischief. Despite being born outdoors, he never truly knew the harshness of street life. Freya had hidden him in an apartment storeroom, shielding him from the outside world. Because of this, Julius is wonderfully well socialised. He’s comfortable with humans, enjoys the company of other cats, and would do well in a home with older children or another young cat to play with.

Freya and Julius share a special bond born from survival and love. They can be adopted together, bringing double the joy to one lucky family, or they can be homed separately if the right circumstances arise. What matters most is that they find homes where their unique personalities can shine—Freya, the gentle and devoted mother who longs for peace, and Julius, the lively young adventurer who brings laughter wherever he goes.

After everything they’ve endured, these two are ready for a new chapter—a safe, loving home where they will never have to worry again.
