IRIS

Iris is a 1-year-old female cat with a truly unique look—one captivating blue eye and one warm hazel eye. But beyond her striking appearance, she has a gentle soul that has been slowly learning to trust and love.

When she was first rescued, Iris was terrified of people, very timid, and easily startled by sounds and new environments. She spent weeks in a small space, unsure of the world around her, often hiding and hissing out of fear. But everything changed when she moved to a loving foster home.

In just a few weeks, Iris has absoutely transformed. She has shown herself to be incredibly smart, polite, and well-behaved. She loves her play sessions and toys, especially her stuffed toy, which she seems to have a love-hate relationship with. She has gradually started opening up, and now she is becoming a lap cat. At night, when the lights go out, she quietly settles in her favourite spot, her own little “apartment.” Or she comes to her foster parents bed these days already! In the evenings, when her foster family sits on the couch, she likes to squeeze in between them, as if she’s finally learning the comfort of companionship.

Iris has also taken a surprising interest in household chores—she enjoys watching the rag move as the floors are cleaned, following along and “helping” in her own way. She has adapted beautifully to home life, now unfazed by music, the vacuum cleaner, or even the iron. She also has the sweetest little meow and enjoys chatting when called by name, keeping up a conversation in her own way.

Iris recently encountered neighbours children of 4 years old and has shown a gentle nature and curiosity, she was playing with the kid to much of her foster family pleasure and surprise!

Iris would thrive in a loving home, seems even with children who would understand her journey. She has come so far and is ready for a forever family who will continue to show her love and patience.
