OJ’s the kind of kitten who makes strangers smile. He was picked up from the street not because he was bold or scrappy, but because he was so sweet and gentle that someone stopped and scooped him up. He looked totally lost out there—no street skills, just a soft, people-loving boy who seemed like he’d been dumped and was waiting for his person to come back.
In a new home OJ is shy for the first few days. He’ll find a hidey spot, take everything in, and you might hear a little mew asking for reassurance before you see him. Give him a quiet corner, speak softly, and let him set the pace. Then—usually within a few days to a week—he’s out and about, tail up, ready for love. We’re still giving him time to blossom in foster; he hasn’t really started playing yet, so we can’t wait to discover more of his true, playful nature as his confidence grows.
And love is his favourite thing. OJ is very tactile: he leans into chin rubs, melts for cuddles, and follows his humans from room to room. He’s kind with adults and children, genuinely curious about kids, and wonderfully trusting with people. We think he’ll do brilliantly in a family with children 6+ who will be gentle and enjoy a snuggly shadow padding around the house.
OJ is thriving indoors and will remain strictly indoor-only—he doesn’t have the street survival instincts, and he’s much happier being safe and loved. What he’ll bring you is simple and lovely: a loyal, cuddly companion who settles on the sofa beside you, asks for scritches with a soft chirp, and reminds you that the best part of home is the warm ginger cat in it.
If you’re looking for a gentle friend with a heart as bright as his coat, OJ is ready to come home.
