Some cats quietly blend into the background. Othello has never quite mastered that.
Whether he’s greeting you with a cheerful chirp, chatting as you make a cup of tea or curling up beside you after a play session, Othello has a wonderful way of making himself part of everyday life. Affectionate, playful and wonderfully laid back, he’s a young boy who has left the hardest chapter of his life behind him and is now ready to enjoy everything that comes with having a family of his own.
A bit about Othello
His days are a lovely balance of adventure and relaxation. One minute he’s enthusiastically chasing a wand toy with impressive hunting skills, the next he’s stretched out in his favourite bed or snoozing beside his people. He enjoys being picked up, is happy to be held and will often settle close by for company. If the mood takes him, he’ll happily climb onto your lap for a cuddle.
One thing you’ll quickly notice is that Othello has plenty to say. He’s quite the little conversationalist and isn’t shy about letting you know when he’d like some attention or entertainment. His foster describes him as vocal when he’s bored, so he’ll thrive with a family who enjoys interacting with him and making him part of everyday life.
Othello currently lives indoors, has impeccable litter habits and enjoys both wet and dry food, particularly Royal Canin and Applaws Tuna. Mealtimes are one of his favourite parts of the day and he’s always keen to remind you when dinner should be served.
Although people are his favourite company, Othello also enjoys the companionship of other friendly cats. He currently lives happily alongside resident cats and is known to seek them out for cuddles and companionship, making him a lovely addition to a home with a welcoming feline friend. We don’t have enough information to confidently assess him with children or dogs, so any introductions should be considered carefully.
Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Othello is how little his past has defined him. After being rescued following a motorcycle accident, he underwent surgery to repair a fractured front leg and later had his damaged tail amputated. Thanks to excellent veterinary care and dedicated fostering, he has made a fantastic recovery. Today he walks, runs, climbs and plays just like any other young cat, and his previous injuries do not affect his everyday life.
Othello is looking for a loving indoor home where he’ll have plenty of companionship, interactive play and, most importantly, someone willing to chat back every now and then. In return, you’ll gain a loyal, affectionate and incredibly handsome companion who proves every day that happy endings really do exist.
The ideal family
A loving indoor home where Othello can be part of family life. He would enjoy plenty of interaction and play, and would appreciate a home where someone is around for at least part of the day. He would be equally happy joining a home with another friendly cat or becoming the centre of attention as a much-loved only cat.
Kids: Older, cat-savvy children would likely be most suitable. We have insufficient information regarding younger children.
Indoor/Outdoor: Indoor only.
Other cats: Yes. Othello enjoys feline companionship and is known to seek out resident cats for cuddles and company.
Dogs: Unknown.
Food: Royal Canin Indoor dry and wet food, with Applaws Tuna wet food as a favourite.
Rescue story
Like his Shakespearean namesake, Othello’s story began with tragedy, but thankfully his ending is proving to be a much happier one.
He was rescued after being struck by a motorcycle, suffering injuries that required surgery to repair a fractured front leg and the amputation of his damaged tail. During weeks of recovery and cage rest, his gentle nature, affectionate personality and resilient spirit never faded.
Today, thanks to expert veterinary care and the dedication of his foster family, Othello has made a remarkable recovery. He runs, climbs, plays and enjoys life exactly as every young cat should. His difficult start is firmly behind him, and now all that’s missing is a forever family to help him write the final chapter of his story.
