Meet Chocolate. Former Food Security Officer, retired mother of six and now, for the first time in a long while, a cat whose only responsibility is enjoying the comforts of home.
Chocolate was found abandoned whilst heavily pregnant and rescued just before giving birth. Despite everything she had been through, she remained gentle, loving and devoted to her kittens, raising all six beautifully before they eventually found homes of their own.
Now, at long last, it is Chocolate’s turn.
A Bit About Chocolate
Chocolate is a sweet, gentle tortie who is still discovering just how lovely life with people can be.
When she first arrived in foster care, being picked up was simply not on her list of acceptable activities. Since then, she has made wonderful progress and now happily allows her foster to hold her and even shower her with kisses. Watching her confidence grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of her journey.
She is naturally a quiet and modest girl who prefers a calm approach to life. Whilst she may take a little time to settle into a new home, she has already shown that with patience, kindness and consistency, she continues to blossom.
Chocolate enjoys the comfort and security of indoor life and has adapted beautifully to having a safe place to call home.
Her Favourite Things
Food is high on Chocolate’s list of priorities, which perhaps isn’t surprising given her history.
She enjoys both wet and dry food and is always appreciative when meals arrive on schedule. She may occasionally attempt to conduct her own independent food audit if something tempting has been left unattended, but after surviving on the streets, she is still learning that she no longer needs to worry about where her next meal is coming from.
Chocolate also enjoys gentle play and is perfectly capable of entertaining herself. Small plush toys are her particular favourite and she can happily spend time batting them around without requiring an audience.
Things to Consider
Chocolate has been described as friendly around children, strangers and people in general. She has never shown any signs of aggression and is known for her gentle nature.
Like many rescue cats, she may need a little time to settle into a new environment and build trust with her new family, but once she feels safe, her affectionate side begins to shine through.

The Ideal Home

Rescue Story
Chocolate’s story could have been very different.
Abandoned whilst heavily pregnant, she found herself facing motherhood without the safety and security every cat deserves. Thankfully, she was rescued just in time and gave birth shortly afterwards. Through it all, Chocolate remained a devoted mother. She raised six kittens with patience and care, giving them the best possible start in life before each of them found homes of their own. With her kittens now grown and her parenting duties behind her, Chocolate finally has the chance to focus on herself.
No more raising babies.
No more surviving on the streets.
No more worrying about where the next meal will come from.
Just a safe home, a comfortable bed and a family to call her own.
After everything she has done for others, we think she has earned it.
