Meet Nancy

If your idea of the perfect cat is one who simply wants to be wherever you are, Nancy might just be your perfect match.

She isn’t the sort of cat who climbs the curtains, demands constant entertainment or insists on being the centre of attention. Instead, she’s happiest curled up beside you while you read, watch television or head off to sleep. Quietly affectionate and wonderfully gentle, Nancy has mastered the art of making a house feel like home.

Within just a week of moving into foster care, she has settled beautifully, proving what an adaptable and trusting little soul she is.  

A Day in Nancy’s World

Nancy’s perfect day is wonderfully simple. Breakfast, a little wander around the room, plenty of fuss, followed by a well-earned nap somewhere close to her favourite human. Come bedtime, she’ll happily curl up beside you and settle in for the night.

She’s also an enthusiastic biscuit maker. Stroke her for more than a few moments and those paws immediately get to work, kneading away in pure contentment. Regular nail trims will keep those talented paws in tip-top condition.

Although she’s not especially interested in toys, she’s incredibly interested in people. She doesn’t need constant entertainment because spending time with her family is what makes her happiest.  

The Best Bit About Nancy

Nancy has the kind of temperament that’s difficult to find. She’s affectionate without being demanding, quiet without being shy and gentle with everyone she meets. She’ll happily answer you with soft little meows when spoken to, enjoys plenty of cuddles and has quickly become the sort of cat who makes herself part of the family routine.  

One of Nancy’s biggest surprises is just how much she likes dogs. She has been brilliant with her foster’s two large, cat-friendly dogs, happily rubbing against them and even flopping down in front of them for attention. If you already have a calm, dog-friendly dog looking for a feline companion, Nancy could be an excellent match.  

With other cats she’s polite and submissive rather than confrontational. Given her history, she’s understandably a little cautious around unfamiliar cats, but she’s shown no aggression and we believe she’d settle well with friendly feline companions following slow, sensible introductions.  

Medical

Nancy is FIV positive, but don’t let that put you off. Cats living with FIV can enjoy long, happy and perfectly normal lives with routine veterinary care and a loving indoor home. She has also tested negative for FeLV and is currently receiving a short course of Meloxicam for some dental inflammation.  

Nancy’s Perfect Home

Nancy is looking for a family who want a genuine companion rather than an independent roommate.

She’d thrive in a calm home where somebody is around for at least part of the day and where cuddles are considered an important daily activity. She would be equally happy as the only pet or sharing her home with friendly cats introduced gradually. She would also be delighted to live with respectful, cat-friendly dogs.

If you’re looking for a cat who simply wants to love and be loved, Nancy will fit beautifully into your life.

Children: Yes, respectful children.

Indoor/Outdoor: Indoor only.  

Other Cats: Yes, with slow introductions.

Dogs: Yes. Particularly calm, cat-friendly dogs.

Food: Royal Canin Indoor dry food.

Rescue Story

For two years, Nancy quietly waited outside the same home. Every day she would appear on the doorstep. Never pushy. Never demanding. Just patiently hoping someone might notice her.

When Dubai’s summer temperatures became impossible to ignore, her foster finally brought her inside. Nancy settled almost immediately, as though she’d been waiting for that invitation all along.

She was found to be microchipped, confirming she once belonged to someone. Despite every effort to trace an owner, nobody came forward.

Now, after spending so long waiting outside for a family who never returned, Nancy has discovered soft beds, air conditioning and the comfort of belonging. The only thing missing is a forever home where she’ll never have to wonder whether she’s wanted again.
